District 7 - Jimmy Cochran

Jimmy CochranJimmy Cochran is one of the longest serving jurors on the public body with 24 years of service to his constituents. He was first elected to the police jury in 1996 at age 32 and has held every administrative position including three terms as president.

He is a life-long resident of Bossier City and represents a district that mostly includes the old downtown area. Cochran owns Bikes Etc., a shop that sells and services bicycles of all types. He has been an independent businessman almost all his adult life.

Cochran is a graduate of Airline High School. His wife of 38 years passed away in 2013 and the couple had two children, Craton and Julie. Both call Bossier City home. Cochran also has three grandchildren.

Cochran believes an important business of the police jury is to ensure the people of Bossier Parish have the best infrastructure and quality of life possible. To him, being a member of the police jury is more than just going to meetings. He knows caring for his constituents is a full time job.
