Swan Lake Rd. will be closed for approximately six months beginning July 15 while contractors for Bossier Parish replace a bridge as part of a road realignment project, according to Parish Engineer Butch Ford.

Area motorists travelling on I-220 and Swan Lake Rd. will be looking at a series of detours and closures beginning in about two weeks while contractors begin a project to widen the lanes on Swan Lake beneath the I-220 overpass.

Equipment has been put in place and preparations are being made to begin boring for a water line beside the Linton Rd. bridge. Contractors began getting ready for the project Monday and expect to complete their task by June 21, weather permitting.

Bossier Parish Police Jury highway department workers are currently involved in a pair of upgrade projects on high traffic roadways. Rough spots are being dug out and overlayed on the western end of Swan Lake Rd. while one lane on Airline Dr. north of its intersection with Swan Lake is being replaced with a new base and surface.

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Bossier Parish Parks and Recreation will be closing its facilities for group gatherings. Sports games, tournaments, and practices are cancelled until April 13, 2020.
Playgrounds, walking tracks, and picnic/camping areas will remain open for individual and family recreation.
