Two Resolutions Highlighting Two Organizations' Work in Bossier Parish

Open Road Fellowship Church for the July 4th Service

The Police Jury President Tom Salzer presented a resolution to Pastor Raymond Wilkinson of Open Road Fellowship Church, recognizing the church’s volunteerism and support during the KTPS Freedom Fest held July 4, 2026, at South Bossier Park.

Open Road Fellowship Church was commended for its hands-on contributions that played a key role in the event’s success, including:

• Providing volunteers throughout the event
• Delivering live music through the church’s Praise Band
• Distributing bottled water and maintaining hydration stations for attendees
• Supervising inflatable attractions to ensure children’s safety
• Assisting with traffic control and parking coordination

The Jury expressed sincere appreciation to Pastor Wilkinson and the congregation for their continued commitment to serving the community.

And despite weather concerns that nearly disrupted the event, the festival proceeded successfully, with light-hearted moments and strong community participation highlighting the spirit of the celebration.

Willis Knighton Recognized for 30 Years of Service in Bossier Parish

Meanwhile, in Bossier City, Police Jury Vice President Julianna Parks formally presented a resolution to Jaf Fielder, President and CEO of Willis-Knighton Health in recognition of 30 years of dedicated service to the residents of Bossier Parish.

Celebrating its milestone anniversary on July 15, 2026, Willis-Knighton Bossier has served as a cornerstone of healthcare since opening in 1996. The Police Jury commended the hospital for its transformative role in expanding access to high-quality, innovative medical care throughout North Bossier.

The resolution highlights the hospital’s leadership in advanced medical technology, surgical care, and diagnostic services, along with its operation of the only 24-hour emergency room in Bossier Parish.

“Willis-Knighton Bossier has played a vital role in the health, safety, and growth of our parish,” said Vice President Parks. “Their ongoing commitment to patient care, innovation, and community partnership continues to make a lasting impact.”

The hospital was further recognized for:

• Supporting military families at Barksdale Air Force Base
• Providing career opportunities for military spouses and retirees
• Engaging in community initiatives such as Keep Bossier Beautiful, the i3 Art Expo, and New Teacher Bags
• Supplying certified athletic trainers at no cost to several local high schools
• Expanding access to care through WK Quick Care clinics and a growing physician network

The resolution officially designates July 15, 2026, as Willis-Knighton Bossier Day, honoring the administration, physicians, nurses, and staff for three decades of service.
