2025 Audit Presentation Highlights Strong Financial Standing

At the outset of the meeting, a representative from Cook and Morehart presented the parish’s 2025 audit. The representative reported clean accounting records and commended staff for efficient financial management.

Key highlights from the audit include:

• Total federal expenditures reached $16.6 million, including $7.2 million in COVID-19 relief funds, most of which have now been expended.
• The water and sewer funds experienced a $1 million decrease in cash flow due to significant repairs but maintained a positive balance. Overall cash increased by $573,000.
• The General Fund balance decreased by $780,000 but remains strong at approximately $16 million.
• Interest income totaled $4.2 million, reflecting prudent investment strategies.

PUD Moratorium Extended to Support Long-Term Planning

The Police Jury approved a resolution extending the Planned Unit Development (PUD) moratorium for an additional year in designated Metropolitan Planning Commission areas. This extension aligns with findings from the Comprehensive Master Plan and allows for continued public input.

The moratorium applies only to residential PUD developments. Commercial development projects will continue as normal.

Proclamation Recognizes Willis Knighton Bossier’s 30th Anniversary

Jurors approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement to assist the Town of Plain Dealing with storm debris removal following an EF1 tornado in June. The agreement provides support to help expedite cleanup and recovery efforts in the affected area.
