Bossier Parish Police Jury Advances Infrastructure, Growth Planning at April 1 Meeting

Posted: Apr 3, 2026, 3:51 PM

The Bossier Parish Police Jury took several steps during the April 1 Regular Agenda Meeting to strengthen parish infrastructure, responsibly manage growth, and improve long-term services for residents.

To enhance roadway maintenance and efficiency, the Police Jury approved the purchase of two new pieces of critical equipment for the Highway Department’s operations. A shouldering machine was awarded to Covington Sales and Service, and a motorized broom was awarded to Scott Equipment. These additions will support enhanced road shoulder maintenance, drainage efficiency, and overall roadway safety across the parish.

The Police Jury also adopted two ordinances amending Chapter 122, Article III, “Sewerage Districts” of the Bossier Parish Code of Ordinances. The amendments update and clarify provisions related to:

  • Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1, and
  • Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 2

These changes are intended to improve governance, operational clarity, and service delivery within the parish’s sewerage districts.

In preparation for continued residential development, the Police Jury scheduled two public hearings for May 6, 2026, to allow for public input and consideration of proposed subdivision plats:

  • The Parc Subdivision, Unit No. 1, which is nearly 29 acres of land.
  • The Culpepper Subdivision, which is nearly 55 acres of land.

Additionally, the Police Jury accepted the streets and drainage improvements in Hunter’s Crossing, Unit No. 1, into the parish road system for permanent maintenance. This action puts long‑term maintenance in the parish's hands and marks an important step in delivering improved infrastructure for residents.

“These actions collectively reflect our commitment to investing in infrastructure, planning for growth, and maintaining the quality of life our residents expect,” said Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward, following the meeting.

As always, the Bossier Parish Police Jury continues to focus on responsible development, infrastructure improvement, and long-term planning that support a growing parish while protecting public resources.
