Amazon Announces Major Data Center Investment in Northwest Louisiana

Posted: Feb 23, 2026, 5:39 PM

Governor Jeff Landry has announced that Amazon will invest $12 billion to develop multiple data center campuses across Caddo and Bossier parishes. The project will create 540 new direct jobs and an estimated 1,700 indirect jobs in the region. Construction will begin in the coming weeks, with the first job postings set to go live on Tuesday.

Governor Landry said the investment reflects Amazon’s confidence in Louisiana’s strategic sites, robust infrastructure, and skilled workforce. Amazon’s Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer, David Zapolsky, emphasized that the development will support next-generation AI and cloud computing while providing high-paying jobs and strengthening local infrastructure.

Amazon is partnering with STACK Infrastructure, which will lead the construction and development of the facilities. STACK anticipates the project will support up to 1,500 construction jobs. STACK Americas CEO Matt VanderZanden highlighted the company’s commitment to working closely with local partners and contributing to long-term community benefits.

According to NLEP, Amazon will also launch several community and infrastructure initiatives as part of its investment in Northwest Louisiana.
