Planned Water Service Interruption and Boil Advisory Issued for Haughton Area

The Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 (CWSD #1) is notifying businesses and residents located south of the intersection of LA Highway 80 and Bodcau Station Road of a planned water service interruption beginning tonight.

Earlier today, crews identified a leak in the water main in the 1000 block of HWY 80 at the front of Dominos Pizza and Bodcau Station Road. To perform the necessary repairs, the water service will be shut off at 11:45 p.m. and is expected to remain off for several hours. The outage will affect properties along the Highway 80 corridor to include McDonald's, Domino's, Subway restaurants, and surrounding areas.

Following the restoration of service, a mandatory boil advisory will be in effect for all impacted customers.

Boil Water Safety Guidelines:

Residents and businesses are advised to:

• Boil tap water until it reaches a full rolling boil and continue boiling for at least one minute.
• Boil water even if it has been filtered.
• Use boiled or bottled water for:

• Drinking
• Cooking
• Brushing teeth
• Preparing food

Water samples will be collected and submitted to the Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health in Shreveport for testing. The boil advisory will remain in place until officials confirm the water is safe for consumption.
