Temporary Water Service Loss and Boil Advisory Issued for Princeton Residents

Posted: Apr 22, 2025, 2:38 PM

The Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 (CWSD #1) has announced a boil advisory for residents off Wafer Road who get their water from the Village Water System.

Earlier today, work crews accidentally broke a water main supplying water to homes between Lynn Lane and David Drive off Wafer Road.  As a result of the break, work crews shut off the water supply for several hours to make the necessary repairs. The interruption of service led officials to issue a boil advisory after the service was resumed.

Water samples will be collected and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health in Shreveport for testing tomorrow. Residents are advised to boil their water before consumption until the required testing is complete and confirm that the water is safe for use.

Safety Tips for Boiling Water:

  • Boiling Process: Bring tap water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute.
  • Filtered Water: Boil tap water even if it has been filtered.
  • Usage: Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and preparing food
