Boil Advisory Lifted for Village Water System Highway 164 in Haughton

The Louisiana Department of Health Lab in Shreveport has lifted the boil advisory recently issued for customers who receive water service from the Village Water System residents on Highway 164 in Haughton.
Late Wednesday evening, a contractor working in the area accidentally struck a water main, resulting in a loss of pressure. Consequently, CWSD #1 crews temporarily shut off the water supply to perform necessary repairs. Due to the disruption, officials CWSD #1 issued the advisory affecting approximately 50 homes in the vicinity.
For safety, officials issued the advisory for the affected customers and collected water samples for testing. The samples from the line were tested at the LA Dept. of Health Lab and returned negative. No further action will be taken with this advisory.
