Work crews with Bossier Parish Public Utilities have been working to isolate a problem with the water supplied to the Espanita Subdivision from the recently merged Village Water System.
In the wake of a recent lightning storm and high temperatures, residents have reported discolored water in the tap water they have been receiving. As a result, maintenance crews are aggressively flushing the system to locate and resolve the issue.
Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District 1 of Bossier Parish integrated Village Water into the parish system in March 2023. This expansion encompassed an area stretching east along U.S. Hwy. 80 from Bellevue Rd. to near the border of Bossier and Webster parishes, incorporating several subdivisions, businesses, and sites of new developments.
As a precautionary measure, water samples will be forwarded to the Louisiana Department of Health office in Shreveport for testing.
