Notes from the May 15 Police Jury Regular Meeting

Posted: May 20, 2024, 8:42 AM

During the meeting, Parish Administrator Butch Ford commented that he received a letter of appreciation from Sheriff Julian Whittington for the work the Highway Department gave in support of Operation Clean Sweep. Operation Clean Sweep is a joint effort between the Bossier Parish Police Jury, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, Keep Bossier Beautiful, and the City of Bossier City Operation Clean Sweep to clean up the streets and ditches in the parish.  Work crews from the Highway Department provided a grappler truck to assist with the clean-up in the parking lot at Airline High School.

Parish Engineer Eric Hudson provided brief comments on the progress of the North/South Corridor Project. Jurors also saw a short video of work crews actively working on the project.

Public Library Director Felesha Sweeney shared with the jurors the Summer Experience 2024 that will be held at all the library branches throughout the parish. The library staff boasts they will offer more innovative programs and events for all ages that will be more than a summer reading program; they say it’s an experience. The summer experience will be held May 21 through July 31.
