Bossier Parish Coroner’s Swearing in Ceremony

Dr. Michael Williams was sworn in as the new Bossier Parish Coroner in a ceremony at the Bossier Parish Courthouse on Monday, March 25. 

The Honorable Judge Parker Self administered the Oath of Office to Dr. Williams while his wife and mother held the bible for him.

Dr. Williams will replace Dr. John Chandler as the coroner of Bossier Parish after his 12-year tenure.                 

In an interview, Dr. Williams shared his vision about the future of the coroner’s office.

For 23 years, Dr. Williams has served as the Bossier City Medical Director for the Fire, EMS, and Police departments and in the same capacity for Bossier Parish EMS. He has also served as the Medical Director for the SWAT teams of both Bossier City and the Louisiana State Police. He joined the Willis Knighton Bossier team in its opening year of 1996 and is the current Attending Physician of the Emergency Department.
