Midway through the meeting, President Phillip Rodgers presented Mr. John Fox, 2022 Airline High School graduate, with a resolution for creating twenty hand-drawn historical images of Bossier City. After digitizing the images, he produced a coloring book to distribute throughout all Bossier Parish Libraries branches.
During the committee meetings reports, Policy and Procedures Chairman Doug Rimmer gave the jurors a report on his selection as the 3rd
Vice President on the board of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana (PJAL). Mr. Rimmer says this new appointment will help him make decisions that will benefit the other juries in the state but in particular Bossier Parish. Rimmer stated that there are certain priorities that need to be addressed in PJAL, such as the Severance Tax from oil and gas production. “It is important to ensure that these funds are not capped. Additionally, some of the funds generated locally should be used to support the development of Bossier.” Rimmer has been appointed as a board member for three years. He will serve as 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Vice President of PJAL before assuming the role of President.
Parish Administrator Butch Ford, along with Bossier Parish Library Director Felesha Sweeney, told the jurors that the new Central Library will open on Monday, March 11. The grand opening of the library is scheduled for April 16. Ford said there is also a grand opening of the new Bossier Parish EMS station in Haughton set for March 15.
Approved the recommendation by the Benton MPC of the plat of the proposed development of Greer Subdivision on a certain tract of 30.120 acres of land located in west Bossier Parish.
Approved the recommendation by the Bossier City-Parish MPC of the minor plat of the proposed development of Candy Acres, Unit lC, being 1 acre of land located in west Bossier Parish.
Approved the recommendation by the Bossier City-Parish MPC of the plat of the proposed development of Greenacres Ranchettes, Unit No. 3, being a re-subdivision of Lot 3 of Greenacres Ranchettes, Unit No. 1, located in west Bossier Parish.
Approved the recommendation by the Benton MPC of the plat of the proposed development of W. M. Sirman, Unit No. 1-A, being a re-subdivision of Lot 2 of the W. M. Sirman Subdivision is located in the Northwestern Land District of Bossier Parish.
Approved the recommendation by the Benton MPC to schedule a public hearing on April 3 to consider the approval of the plat of the proposed development of Beeson Subdivision, located in the Northwestern Land District, Bossier Parish.
Approved the recommendation by the Bossier City-Parish MPC to schedule a public hearing for April 3 to consider the approval of 20.988 acres of land of the proposed development of Cane's Landing located in west Bossier Parish, LA.
Approved the recommendation by the Haughton-Parish MPC to schedule a public hearing for April 17 to consider the approval of the application of Ryan Estess, Raley and Associates, Inc., for a zoning amendment to change the zoning classification for 13.99 acres of land from Residence-Agricultural District to Residential Mobile Home Subdivision, located on the southwest corner of LA Highway 80 and Beauregard Road.
Approved the recommendation by the Haughton-Parish MPC to schedule a public hearing for April 17 to consider the approval of the application of Ryan Estess, Raley and Associates, Inc., to the Haughton-Parish MPC to change the zoning classification of a certain tract of land from Residence-Agricultural District to Light Industrial District, for a proposed shop/warehouse located on the southwest corner of Highway 80 and Beauregard Road.
Approved the acceptance of the streets and drainage in Redwood Place at Legacy Subdivision Unit No. 12, into the parish road system for permanent maintenance. Previously tabled on January 10, 2024.

Approved the adoption to amend Ordinance No. 4976 of September 20, 2023, which provided for the posting of East Pointe Drive to no-thru traffic, by correcting the numerical order for East Pointe Drive to read #6, in accordance with Chapter 94, Section 94-11 of the Bossier Parish Code of Ordinances.
