Accepting Resumes for Bossier Parish Representative on Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau Board of Directors

Posted: Dec 5, 2022, 5:04 PM

The Bossier Parish Police Jury is currently accepting resumes for a vacancy on the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau Board of Directors. This appointment is for a three-year term. The board meets the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours, with the possibility of additional meetings being called during the year depending on the committee to which the board member is assigned.

Duties of the board include providing oversight for the Bureau and its divisions. Knowledge of the hospitality industry, sales or marketing is helpful but not required. The board strives to maintain a diversity of skill sets, age, race and other factors. Current members include hotel general managers, sales directors, a restaurant manager, attractions management and marketing, a former Main Street director, military/educator and a Certified Public Accountant. Professions currently not represented on the board include attorney, member of law enforcement or economic development.

If an applicant is an owner (25% or more) of a company that would benefit from the Bureau, participation could potentially cause an ethics violation and the applicant will need to speak with the Bureau’s legal counsel to ensure that their appointment to the board is not a conflict of interest.

Qualified applicants should submit their resumes to the Bossier Parish Police Jury office located at Bossier Parish Courthouse, 204 Burt Blvd., Benton, LA, or mail a resume to Bossier Parish Police Jury, Attn: Rachel Hauser, P.O. Box 70, Benton, LA, 71006. Resumes may also be emailed to rhauser@bossierparishla.gov. The deadline to submit resumes is December 19, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
