Attendance should be huge for south Bossier's first-ever gigantic KTBS Freedom Fest celebrating God and country Fourth of July fireworks display at the South Bossier Park, and parish police jury workers are making improvements to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
Designated parking areas are being identified and to help move traffic into one of those large areas, highway department crews are installing culverts and laying asphalt millings drive-overs to provide additional access and exit.
Also, recreation department workers continue to give the park additional attention with mowers keeping all areas well-groomed.
Persons attending the event will be allowed onto the grounds beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, the Fourth, with fireworks planned to ignite at 9:30. South Bossier Park is located on Caplis Sligo Rd. approximately one mile south of its intersection with Sligo Rd.
