QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or three months of working experience.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Random drug testing is conducted on all Highway employees
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to understand job descriptions, safety manuals, and safety and warning signs.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Incumbent must possess a valid State Driver’s License and may be required to obtain a Valid CDL license within a reasonable time upon appointment.
