The Bossier Parish Police Jury held its final meeting of the year, addressing major infrastructure projects, property standards, and future planning initiatives that will shape the parish in the coming years.
During the meeting, jurors approved a change order for the 2025 road improvement program, which adds 21 days to the project timeline and includes scope adjustments totaling $264,673.48. This increase will be partially funded by BPX Energy, BP’s U.S. onshore oil and gas business that operates in Louisiana’s Haynesville Basin. In addition, a supplement was approved for the Espanita Drainage Improvements project, which is now 95 percent complete in design plans and requires additional servitudes to move forward.
To improve long-term planning and disaster relief validation, the Jury authorized pavement management information services through FUGRO Company at a cost of $145,000. FUGRO will conduct a comprehensive survey of all parish roads, using advanced technology to assess pavement conditions and provide detailed data that will guide maintenance priorities and future infrastructure planning. Looking ahead, jurors adopted a three-year road overlay program for 2026 through 2028.

Property standards were another focus of the meeting. Jurors reviewed and acted on several properties that posed health and safety violations, including abandoned homes and overgrown lots recommended for condemnation.
Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward closed the meeting with a message of gratitude and optimism. “As we celebrate this Christmas season, I want to express my deepest appreciation to each of our dedicated staff and Jurors. Your hard work and commitment have made 2025 a year of progress and resilience for Bossier Parish.
This season reminds us of the power of unity and purpose. Together, we’ve overcome challenges and achieved milestones that strengthen our community. For that, I am truly grateful.
Looking ahead to 2026, let’s embrace the opportunities before us. Growth is not just about numbers; it’s about innovation, collaboration, and a shared vision for a stronger parish. I believe that with your continued dedication, we can make the coming year our most impactful yet.
Wishing you and your families a joyful Christmas and a New Year filled with success, health, and new possibilities. Let’s make 2026 a year of bold progress! We are going to lead with vision and grow with purpose.”
