The Bossier Parish’s GIS department creates and maintains spatial information to aid in the data analysis to the supported parish departments and their customers and in the creation of maps. The department is continually creating and maintaining GIS layers for the parish in addition to making various maps.
The Bossier Parish’s GIS department functions include the management and creation of various graphic map layers of Bossier Parish. This includes such layers as Police Jury Districts, land parcels, flood zones, roads, oil and gas wells, and municipalities in the Parish. With each of these graphic layers, an attribute database record is maintained on the individual graphic feature.
The Bossier Parish’s GIS department will also help the public, in developing maps for your specific needs based on the current data available.
