Bossier City Honors 9/11 Victims with Remembrance Ceremony

Posted: Sep 11, 2025, 12:17 PM

Keep Bossier Beautiful and the City of Bossier City hosted a heartfelt 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Liberty Garden, located at the Bossier City Municipal Complex. The event paid tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in the tragic terrorist attacks that shook the nation.

Elected officials, first responders, and residents from both sides of the Red River came together in unity. Among those in attendance were District 12 Juror Keith Sutton and Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward.

The ceremony featured a presentation of the colors by the Bossier High School Air Force Junior ROTC, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Haughton High School junior Charlee Protho. Jenny Arnette, wife of a Bossier City firefighter, delivered a moving rendition of the National Anthem.

A highlight of the event was the reading of the winning essay, “What is a Hero,” by Bossier Elementary School 5th grader Amoirr White, whose words resonated deeply with the audience.

This year’s theme—Honor, Remembrance, and Healing—served as a powerful reminder of the lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. The phrase “Let’s Roll” echoed as a call to action, inspiring attendees to carry forward the spirit of courage and unity.
