Now Open – New Recycling Compactor Ready for Use

Posted: Jan 31, 2025, 2:57 PM

The Bossier Parish Police Jury, Keep Bossier Beautiful, and the Bossier Sheriff’s Office are announcing the new recycling compactor that we previously reported on is now open and ready to use.

Recyclers can now bring their cardboard and paper recyclables into the 40-yard container located on the hill just behind the Bossier Courthouse. The new compactor and container replaced the five dumpsters that were used for several years. Those bins cost Bossier taxpayers nearly $8,000 a year to be emptied weekly. Parish officials believe the new compactor will increase recycling capacity and save taxpayer dollars on recycling.  The compactor was purchased with a $20,000 donation to KBB.

Remember, only paper and cardboard products are allowed to be recycled in the compactor. Trash is not allowed.
