Another Boil Advisory Issued for the Village Water System

Officials with the Bossier Parish Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No.1 (CWSD #1) issued a boil advisory for customers on the Village Water System in the 8500 block of HWY 80 to Eddies Gas Station on Goodwill Road.  

Officials report that a significant break occurred in a 4-inch water line after a work crew repaired two smaller leaks in the same line. The major leak happened shortly after the crew completed the initial repairs and turned the water back on, resulting in a substantial rupture further down the line. In response to the break, the work crew replaced 30 feet of the damaged line and installed a new valve. They also collected water samples for testing.

This advisory will remain in effect until testing has been completed by the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health in Shreveport.
