The Bossier Parish Police Jury, Keep Bossier Beautiful, and the Bossier Sheriff’s Office have revamped the parish’s recycling program with a new compactor projected to crush the cost of recycling in the parish.
Residents will soon have access to a new compactor and a 40-yard recycling container located on the hill behind the courthouse. The new compactor and container will replace the five currently in use. These bins are emptied weekly, costing taxpayers nearly $8,000 a year to recycle. Parish officials believe the new compactor will save taxpayer dollars and increase recycling capacity as residents can now recycle paper and cardboard.
The recycling compactor was purchased with a $20,000 donation to KBB. Officials anticipate the new compacter will be in operation in the coming weeks. For your convenience, the date will be posted on either our website or our Facebook page when it is in operation.
