BPPJ Regular Meeting notes 4-30-24

During the April 30 meeting, jury members approved an AD HOC agenda item to authorize the parish to pick up debris from the recent storm. Members emphasized that only storm debris on parish roads and rights-of-way will be collected for a maximum of 30 days. Jurors approved another AD HOC agenda item, receiving declared surplus items from the courtroom upgrades and disposing of the items at the e-waste electronic event sponsored by Keep Bossier Beautiful. Jurors also congratulated the Bossier Library Staff for their work in passing the library millage renewal.
Jury members also:
- Authorized the advertising for bids for the Official Journal of the Bossier Parish Police Jury for July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
- Awarded the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for engineering and related services for Project LA FLAP BPPJ BDCVIL (1) for the following routes: Bodcau Dam Road, Cotton Valley Road, and Ivan Lake Road.
- Awarded the bid for Project No. 2024-117, LGAP FY 2021-2022 - Scada Controls for Sewer Lift Stations, Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 2, by bids received on April 25, 2024.
- Adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 50, Article III, Sections 50-40 to 50- 45, of the Bossier Parish Code of Ordinances by adding Benton Fire District No. 4 Fire Prevention Code.
- Approved the recommendation by the Benton MPC for the approval for the proposed development of Ace Acres, Unit 18, being a re-subdivision of Ace Acres. The agenda item was previously tabled on April 17, 2024.
- Approved a motion to schedule a public hearing on June 5, 2024, to consider the application of Andrew Querbes of Vintage Realty for a Conditional Use Approval for the sale of high and low-content alcohol for off-premises consumption at a C-Store located at 4890 Benton Road.
- Approved a motion to schedule a public hearing on June 5, 2024, to consider approval of the plat of the proposed development of Cypress Bay.
- Approved the acceptance of the Certificate of Substantial Completion of Project No. 2022-111, Parish Camp Boat Launch Improvements.
- Approved the acceptance of the streets and drainage in Canal Place Subdivision, Unit No. 4, into the parish road system for permanent maintenance.
- Accepted the proposal from Volkert, Inc., for the Manganese Removal Project Phase I to make an application on behalf of the Bossier Parish Police Jury through the Louisiana Department of Health, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWRLF) for Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 and Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No.2.
