The Trailblazer Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Pond Planning Seminar

The Trailblazer Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D)  Pond Planning seminar was a success.  Some of the highlights include:

Engineer Jacob Paul and biologist Jeff Sibley discussed pond planning with landowners and stakeholders during a free workshop at Red Oak Lake near Haughton Friday. Sessions were presented as part of Trailblazer Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) educational programs.

Paul and Sibley presented information on construction, water quality, weed control, nutrient issues and pond stocking plus information on U.S. Department of Agriculture and National Resources Conservation Service technical and financial assistance.

Paul is an engineer with the USDA NRCS; Sibley is a fisheries biologist with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
