Welcome from William R. Altimus

Bossier Parish Police Jury Administrator

William R. AltimusWelcome! My name is Bill Altimus and I hope you find the information we have provided on our website useful.

I am excited about the future of our parish. Bossier is considered one of the fastest growing parishes in Louisiana, and as such, we have many exciting challenges ahead. Diversifying our economy and providing the necessary infrastructure to support it, is certainly at the top of the list. We expect the continual evolution and growth of the Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base and the National Cyber Research Park, with our Cyber Innovation Center and General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) as the anchors, to have a profound economic impact in our community.

We are continuing to expand the parish’s efforts to provide public water and sewer throughout the parish to aid in the tremendous residential and commercial development that is occurring here. A major transportation plan is being worked using state and local tax monies to improve transportation and bridges in the unincorporated areas.

Our staff and I welcome your questions and input on these matters, along with any concerns which you may have. Please contact us with questions, suggestions, or comments.
