02/10/2020

National Weather Service forecasters are predicting heavy rain with the potential for flooding beginning today (Monday) and continuing into Wednesday.

Forecasts indicate strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Monday and again on Wednesday. For Bossier Parish, low level land and street flooding should be expected, especially in those areas that are known to have problems during times of heavy rainfall. Motorists are reminded to never drive through or enter flooded water areas including roads, ditches and swollen waterways.

Predictions call for a cold front to approach from the northwest Monday and drop southeastward across the area. The front should stall across central Louisiana Monday evening.

Flash flooding will become a threat by mid-week with severe weather possible Monday and again on Wednesday for portions of the area. Rainfall amounts between four and six inches are predicted from deep east Texas across northwest and central Louisiana.

A marginal risk for severe weather is in place for Monday with the possibility of isolated storms packing damaging winds and large hail. Forecasters say severe weather will again be possible Wednesday.
