More rain coming; no rise in water levels expected

National Weather Service forecasters predict rainfall will return to the area late Thursday and continue Friday through Saturday. Amounts will range from an expected 1/2-inch locally to 1/2 -to one inch regionally.

Heaviest rainfall is expected Friday night, and rains are predicted to shift to the east through Saturday as a cold front tracks across the area. Drier weather is expected Sunday through the middle of next week.

Area tributaries have been high but flowing through to the Red River without serious flooding. Waterways are expected to see little impact from the rain except to slow down the receding levels.

In Bossier Parish, Bayou Bodcau has not crested yet. Red Chute Bayou has receded slightly but intermittent rains are expected to slow that drop.
