Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU)
The Bossier Parish Police Jury Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit was created in 2009. Its primary duty is the regulation of commercial motor vehicle traffic upon the parish roadway system. This encompasses size and weight, as well as any other public safety issues pertaining to the trucking industry. Field personnel are POST certified and carry a commission through the Bossier Sheriff’s Office. The CVEU is located at 200 Burt Blvd., Benton, LA 71006.. The phone number is (318) 549-1546.

When a commercial motor vehicle is found to be in violation, field personnel will issue an Aspen report to the driver. The driver shall deliver the report to the carrier upon return to the terminal. The CVEU will process the report in a timely manner, and make every effort to notify responsible parties of any and all actions taken upon the report. Proper method of protest shall be explained in the letter.
